24th Aotearoa New Zealand Jamboree

The Aotearoa New Zealand Scout Jamboree is one of the Southern Hemisphere’s premier Scouting events, bringing together thousands of young people from across New Zealand, Australia and around the world. Held every three years, it offers an unforgettable experience filled with adventure, personal challenge and cultural. Set against New Zealand’s stunning natural landscapes, the Jamboree empowers Scouts to grow, explore and make lasting memories.

The Aotearoa New Zealand Scout Jamboree will be held in December and January at the Mystery Creek Events Centre in Hamilton, New Zealand.

This venue offers expansive outdoor spaces and provides access to some of the North Island’s top adventure activity locations, creating the ideal setting for an exciting and memorable Jamboree experience.

As Australians attending the Aotearoa New Zealand Scout Jamboree, we are fortunate to be welcomed into an event that proudly celebrates the identity, spirit and culture of Scouting in Aotearoa New Zealand.

The silver fern, an iconic national symbol recognised for the distinctive sheen of its frond stands at the heart of this Jamboree’s design, representing the strength, pride, and heritage of the host nation.

The words “TOGETHER” and “KOTAHITANGA” capture the essence of what it means to take part in a shared Scouting experience. “TOGETHER” reflects confidence, calmness, organisation, and companionship, while “KOTAHITANGA” expresses unity, solidarity, and the deep value placed on friendship and collective experience within Māori culture.

The inclusion of the reef knot, a universal symbol of connection and cooperation, further reflects the shared principles of Scouting across both our nations. It represents the bonds formed through collaboration, challenge, and community, values that unite Scouts around the world.

By embracing “TOGETHER” and “KOTAHITANGA,” this Jamboree invites all participants, including our Australian Contingent, to join in adventure, broaden perspectives, and build lifelong friendships while experiencing the rich cultural fabric of Aotearoa New Zealand.
